MY LETTER TO NORTH AMERICANS AND THE WORLD:

Hello, my name is Dave J. B.(HIV.AIDS.POZ@GMail.com), I have contracted HIV and I wish to start an Organization to promote the Prevention and Protection from HIV/AIDS across Canada. I have started an online solution @ http://www.POZ.ca . This site is for everyone HIV+ or HIV- (kids, heterosexual, gay, lesbian, bi, transexual) who are interested in HIV+ Prevention and information. I have also created a web site for HIV+  heterosexuals only @ http://www.heteropoz.com which has services such as online chat and links to other organizations for help in their area. I am in the works of making the complicated setups simular to heteropoz.com for the other communities too (gay, bi, etc). I have programmed and set up these servers without any funding or income other than my monthly disability cheques. I do without proper food and shelter in order to maintain the costs.

From my research, I can see that violence (brawling, karate, boxing, football, rugby, etc) has been highly ignored as a way of contracting HIV. I know 2 people personally that have gotten HIV from various sports.  This should be a major point to my Tour.

We must educate more, and be willing to give out these details
(pamplets, etc) without having to goto a HIV/AIDS organizations (not everyone feels comfortable enough to go into one of these offices). I am doing my best to spread the HIV- word, yet everyhting costs money. I would love to promote and organize a HIV Prevention Convention and a cross Canada HIV Prevention Tour where we hand out pamplets/info/condoms to everyone. Even give out needle cleaning kits. Promote the giving away of sponsored condoms at public events/bars!

I look forward to hearing your comments, and seeing a public commitment for the fight to save hundreds of thousands of lives. I also hope that other countries take my idea and put it into action!

Who we are:

Canadian Hetero Poz Community is a group of HIV+ people who realize that HIV+ heterosexuals need more ways to connect and meet with others.

We are consciously aware that we must focus on ways to meet this goal. We have found that the internet can cater to the majority of our needs.

Solutions:

HIV+/AIDS Online Community (meeting & socializing, info networking, real life online database of health changes allowing people to submit new anonymous info to their log accounts, online chat services, anonymous email services, anonymous proxy server for anonymous web surfing, organized outings & recreational activities, get-togethers with our American HIV+ friends, group support meetings for both co-op and gender, food banks are numerous but never enough, guidance with community and government services, training for easier jobs like computers, etc...)

HETEROPOZ.TV  which will cover such things as Coming Events, Among Friends (actual experiences, interviews with everyday people living with HIV dealing with that and a society that can be afraid), Quick Tips (hints and facts to help day to day living), No More Myths (a leading expert who will discuss any misunderstood facts), Sports Line (athletes living with HIV), Work Line (people at work with HIV), Book Club, On Location (documentary show about high risk areas/activities), Coming Events (concerts, fashion shows, conventions), HIV & Me (a little more on the personal feelings of volunteers), Web Promotion (links to web such as web radio with music made by HIV+, Coming Events, Database, slight discussions of some good web links), Annual Virtual Film Festival (HIV+ submitted videos streamed over internet).

Action needs to be taken to address the social factors that make society vulnerable to contracting HIV. Programs need to be developed that promote safer sex, awareness and prevention.

Objectives:

Our objective is to supply a means for all Canadian HIV+ heterosexuals to connect with each other.

We will guide people online to the local organizations closest to them by region.

Include individuals, organizations, and the government.

Ø      Our Strategic Mission is:

To provide heterosexual HIV+/AIDS affected persons with easily accessible social anonymous contact to others who are affected by HIV/AIDS in Canada. Also, physically easier employment strategies must be devised. I am dedicated to my mission of providing a free and anonymous service. Many of us are unable to work and rely on Social Security in order to live.  If CHPC was a pay site, many of us would be unable to gain access.  Love and companionship not only improves the quality of life, it also extends the quantity of life.

Ø      Our Partnership Objective:

Is to include individuals, organizations, and the government to insure that our strategic mission is fulfilled.  Our primary source of volunteers will be from the secondary and university levels, through O.A.C, Work Co-op, and community service programs.  Our focus with volunteer students is to develop job creation and provide job placement.

Ø      Our Goal is:

To fulfill, protect and preserve the normal living standards for HIV+/AIDS affected people.  To start, an Online Community (supplied: free anon email, free anon surfing, free anon live chat channel, free submission of personals and classifieds, contacts to other organizations, guidance counseling, bulletin boards, news groups, games, entertainment, med videos, medical information, online applications for housing and others, etc) is a must.
